16 -- COMMAND INSTRUMENT PROCESSOR, CP2036/A POC Joseph A. Hnat, Director, C2SID, ATTN: AMSEL-RD-C2-ES-A, Fort Monmouth, Jersey 07703-5000. This is a synopsis of the effort to acquire digital Command Instrument Processors (CIP), CP2036/A, for UH-60 type aircraft that will be equipped with the Global Positioning System (GPS). The GPS-CIP is used in UH-60s to provide steering commands through the pilot's and co-pilot's VSI and HSI. Contract award is expected during the first quarter of FY97 with hardware delivery to start in 4th quarter FY97. Total procurement is for a quantity of four hundred (400) units with an option for an additional one hundred and fifty (150) units. A technical drawing package is not available. The units must be equivalent to existing Astronautics Corporation of America's part number 146310-7 as developed under Army contract DAAB07-88-C-H001. The CIPs must meet all technical requirements of specification ES1425 developed unded the above contract. The contractor shall be required to provide product assurance efforts to include qualification, reliability, and production testing of the CIP hardware. Acceptance testing will be performed using Specification ATP06221 developed under the above contract. The units require a minimum of one (1) year warranty. As part of the evaluation process, bidders will be required to demonstrate their qualifications by verifying their previous experience in production of aircraft flight directors. Only bidders who can meet the total technical and schedule delivery and performance capabilities in response to this Market Survey should respond. Bidders proof of performance to meet Government requirements shall, as a minimum, include the following: A. Demonstrated ability to provided CIP delivery at a rate of twenty-five (25) per month commencing in August 1997. B. Ability to make hardware/software modifications as required by the Government. C. Ability to provide technical support. It is the intent of the government to issue a solicitation approximately 8 January 1996 to only those bidders who are qualified as a result of this market survey.
