COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 26,1995 PSA#1375NASA, Johnson Space Center, BE13, Houston, TX 59 -- FLIGHT QUALIFIED GPS TENSORS SOL 9BE13-30542P DUE 072595 POC
JOHN TRAHAN, Tel:713-483-0543 Contracting Officer:ANN SULLIVAN,
Tel:713-483-1863 The Johnson Space Center is interested in acquiring
two (2) flight- qualified GPS Tensors from Loral Space Systems. (SS/L
Part Number E038769). --The Loral Space Systems Part Number is E038769.
--This hardware is to be shipped to the Johnson Space Center in
Houston, Texas. --The desired delivery date for the hardware is
February 15, 1996. --Number Note 22. --The Johnson Space Center intends
to acquire these GPS Tensors from Loral Space Systems on a sole source
basis. NASA requires a GPS subsystem that can provide real-time three
axis attitude data, three dimensional position and velocity data, and
time reference data. The GPS receiver must be able to meet the
applicable performance, reliability, environmental, lifetime, and
design requirements of JSC 26656, Project Technical Requirements
Specification for the International Space Station (ISS) GPS Subsystem.
The flight GPS receiver must also have adequate design, test, and user
heritage to ensure successful operation in an ISS Criticality 1R
subsystem. The flight GPS receiver must provide identical interfaces
(mechanical, power, thermal, and data) to the Loral Tensor
pre-production units procured for the ISS GPS subsystem prototype
hardware and firmware development. The GPS receiver delivery must
support box-level integration, qualification, and acceptance test
schedules for the ISS GPS subsystem. The only company meeting these
requirements for the manufacturer, is Loral. (0173) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0414 19950623\59-0007.SOL)
