The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, intends to acquire a WINGS/OMNI software bundle from Autometric Incorporated on a sole source basis. WINGS/OMNI is an interactive 3D simulator, modeler and terrain visualizer. This software bundle will be used on a Silicon Graphics Indigo 2 Extreme workstation. The software (using OMNI) will interface to the MultiWarfare Assessment Research System (MARS) simulator and show the spatial relationship between MARS objects such as satellites, aircraft, ground sites and missiles. It will also provide terrain visualization (using WINGS) with cartographic quality 2D and 3D imagery using standard image data and support interactive flight of the terrain. Only Autometric Incorporated provides a single software package that satisfies all requirements, and is fully compatible with the Distributed Interactive Simulation in use.
