Ficken (410) 278-4577 (Site Code DAAD05) The U.S. Army Aberdeen Proving Ground has a requirement for guinea pigs (Hartley), rats (CD), and mice (CD-1) for a base year and two option years. As a result of many years of on-going research protocols, and in order to maintain the integrity of accumulated databases, the required animals are available only from stains produced by Charles River Laboratories, 251 Ballardvale Street, Wilmington, MA 01887. Quantities are various. Delivery orders will be placed for requirements as needed, FOB destination, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Negotiations are being conducted solely with Charles River Labs. which is the only known contractor capable of producing these animals. Supplies are available from only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). See Note 22.(0173)
