(FAA) is initiating an intensive software process improvement program
including both the FAA and its suppliers. One initiative of the
program is to establish an internal FAA Software Engineering Process
Group (SEPG). In the interest of jointly addressing FAA software
quality improvements, the FAA SEPG will be forming ''Partnerships for
Improvement'' with the SEPG leaders of interested FAA development
contractors and avionics contractors. The FAA is now gathering names of
interested industry SEPG leaders, with an initial meeting planned for
later in the year. Any interested SEPG leaders should contact Dr. Floyd
