U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Bureau for Global
Programs, Field Support and Research, Office of Women in Development
(G/WID), intends to invite applications (SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF
FUNDS) for a 3-year competitively awarded Cooperative Agreement to be
funded under the Strategies and Resources - Fellows Program. Through
this program USAID will provide funding to a cadre of field experienced
technical experts committed to enhancing women-in development
activities that will allow women to participate fully and benefit
equally in the economic and social development process in
USAID-assisted countries. The program shall focus on providing career
development experiences for significant numbers of highly qualified
candidates enabling them to develop professional expertise in
women-in-development issues through field experience and internships in
appropriate organizations including but not limited to USAID. The
program shall provide the following activities: l) Identification of
suitable assignments for Fellows; 2) Recruitment, review and selection
of Fellows; 3) Orientation, supervision and support of Fellows; 4) and
Establishment of an Advisory Board. To help identify potential
collaborators on applications, a list of all interested organizations
requesting the RFA at printing time will be provided with the RFA.
USAID does not endorse the organizations listed as being capable of
implementing the activity, nor does USAID verify the claimed status of
the organizations. Interested applicants who submit their written
requests along with three (3) self-addressed, self-stick mailing labels
(facsimile or phone requests will not be honored) will receive Request
for Application (RFA) No. M/OP/A/P-95-007. Please do not send stamped
letter sized envelopes. Walk-in must provide a written request for the
RFA. USAID RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ISSUE THE RFA ONLY ON DISKETTE(S).
However, any applicant who does not want to receive diskette(s), must
indicate in the written request that a hard copy is requested instead
of diskette(s). If the RFA is issued on diskette(s) it will be
WORDPERFECT VER. 5.1/5.2, LOTUS VER. 4.0. The CBD notice and the RFA
can be viewed and downloaded via the notice and the Agency Internet
Gopher and downloaded via Anonymous File Transfer Protocol (FTP). The
Gopher address is GOPHER.INFO.USAID.GOV. Select USAID Procurement and
Business Opportunities from the Gopher menu. The RFA address is
FTP.INFO.USAID.GOV. Look under the following directory:
pub/RFA/95FAO007. Additionally, any applicant who does not want to
download via the Agency Internet must also indicate in the written
request. USAID anticipates issuance of the Request for Applications
electronically and in hard copy on or about July l0, l995. PLEASE NOTE:
