The work consists of the replacement of approximately 7,650 LF of high temperature hot water lines in the industrial area of Dover AFB. The project includes a new shallow, concrete trench for new insulated supply and return HTHW lines. The project includes the demolition of existing asbestos insulated, direct buried, HTHW supply and return lines, dating back to the 1950's and 1960's. The piping to be replaced varies in size from 1-1/2'' to 10'' in diameter. The project includes re-connecting buildings served by the existing lines to the new lines. Phasing is required so that service is not interrupted during the heating season. There are three optional replacement areas in addition to the 7,650 LF. The optional areas total an additional 6,085 LF. The contractor will be responsible for sampling and disposal of contaminated soil which may be present in some areas. SIC Code for this project is 1623. Issue date for the plans and specs is on or about 07 July 95 with a bid opening date on or about 09 Aug 95 at 11:00 a.m. Specifications with half-size drawings are available at a charge of $25.00 per set.
