Z -- PRESOLICITATION - MODIFY FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM AT THE MILA FACILITY AT KENNEDY SPACE CENTER SOL IFB 10-95-0044 DUE 081095 POC Denise Bressler, Contract Officer, OP-ESO-A, 407-867-7230. The work to be performed consists of providing all management, labor, equipment and material to Modify Fire Suppression System at the MILA Facility at Kennedy Space Center. The project scope requires the contractor to replace several Halon 1301 fire extinguishing systems with environmentally friendly extinguishing systems, and install new systems. Eight different structures are included in this project. Each carbon dioxide extinguishing systems shall provide detection and monitoring capability for the release of the carbon dioxide and shall be interconnected with the Simplex fire alarm system (not part of this project). This interconnection shall allow the Simplex fire alarm system to monitor the status of the carbon dioxide extinguishing systems. There shall be close coordination between the contractors performing the sprinkler, carbon dioxide, and fire alarm systems installation.--Plan to issue sol. pkg. on or before 07/10/95.--Magnitude of project is between $250,000 and $500,000.--Period of Performance: 200 calendar after notice to proceed.--Point of contact for sol. pkg.
