Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for glass bottles and closures (caps) for delivery to the USGS in Ocala, Florida and Arvada, Colorado. The bottles will be used as shipping containers for water samples from field offices to the National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL) for analysis. The glass bottles shall be made of Type III (Soda-line) Glass, with amber dyes to limit light penetration to the sample contents. The bottle shall be either ''Boston Round'' or ''Straight Side'' style. The sizes shall be 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 ounces. The 2 oz. bottles shall have polyseal closures and all other sizes shall have melamine closures. There shall be some co-extruded polyethylene/.005 teflon closure lining that consists of a four-layer lining of low density polyethylene/foamed polyethylene/low density polyethylene and teflon. The period of performance will be one base year and two 1-year option periods. This will be a Requirements type contract. Delivery will be made within 30 days of receipt of a delivery order. The total estimated quantities for the base and option years are 122,400 of the 4 oz. amber colored bottles; 57,600 of the 8 oz. flint colored bottles; 21,600 of the 16 oz. flint colored bottles; 100,800 of the 32 oz. amber colored bottles; 3,600 of the 32 oz. flint colored bottles; 10,800 of the 2 oz. flint colored bottles; 13,500 of the 16 oz. natural colored bottles; 3,000 of the 22 mm polyseal caps; 21,000 of the 28 mm polyseal caps; 6,000 of the 33 mm polyseal caps; 10,800 of the 89 mm melamine caps; 3,000 of the 33 mm melamine caps; 3,000 of the 24 mm melamine caps; and 3,000 of the 22 mm melamine caps.
