99 -- SEAMLESS STAINLESS STEEL TUBING POC Contact Point, David Dale, (516)282-3199 Brookhaven National Laboratory intends to solicit bids for Beam Tubes. Fabricate approximately a total of 2200 ft. of seamless tubing for use in an ultra high vacuum environment as beam tubes for Superconducting Magnets at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). Tubes are made from an austenitic stainless steel in the following sizes: 4.750'' OD x .156'' wall, 3.750'' OD x .120'' wall, 6.850'' OD x .220'' wall and 5.625'' OD x .063'' wall. The final product must be bright cold finished 63 rms or better on both inner and outer surfaces. Magnet permeability, weldability, cryogenic integrity, leak rate, cleanliness, surface quality, material grain size and mechanical strength of the finished product are all critical. All work must be performed at the Bidder's manufacturing location. When responding to this announcement include documentation or a proven record showing capabilities to fabricate beam tubes. Complete specifications will be available only to Fabricators who have the appropriate manufacturing equipment. Brokers are not permitted to participate on this procurement.
