The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)/Defense Information Technology Contracting Office (DITCO) will issue a draft Request for Proposal (RFP) for industry review and comment for Defense Information Systems Network Video Services - Global (DVSG) on or about 14 July 1995. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THE DRAFT RFP OR TO OTHERWISE PAY FOR INFORMATION RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO THE DRAFT RFP. The draft RFP defines the requirements, services, and functions necessary to provide DISN International Telecommunications Union- Telecommunications (ITU-U) standards based VTC services. Services to be contracted for include, but are not limited to: multi-vendor interoperability, dedicated video services to include secure and nonsecure, point-to-point and multi-point bridging, the reservation/scheduling system, video services management and monitoring, provisioning, user-site network interface equipment; and providing bridging capability and reservation/scheduling services to support multi-point dial-up conferences and conferences between dial-up video users and dedicated video services. All transmission and a switched network will be provided by the Government. Industry comments in response thereto should be mailed to DITCO/DTS22, at the address cited below, no later than 11 August 1995. A reading room with related reference material will be opened to coincide with the release date of the draft RFP at the DISN Program Management Office, located at 5111 Leesburg Pike, Skyline 5, 9th Floor, Room 9122, Falls Church, VA. The reading room is AVAILABLE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding Government holidays. The Government will not furnish copiers, faxes, telephones, or paper for contractor use.
