The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)/Defense Information Technology Contracting Office (DITCO) will issue a draft Request for Proposal for industry review and comment for Defense Information Systems Network Switch/Bandwidth Manager Services - CONUS (DS/BMSC) on or about 14 July 1995. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THE DRAFT RFP OR TO OTHERWISE PAY FOR INFORMATION RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO THE DRAFT RFP. The draft RFP defines the services necessary to support Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) users in the Continental United States (CONUS), Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands. The services to be acquired will consist of circuit switching services and bandwidth management services up to SONET rates. The services, to the provided within defined geographical areas, will support end-to-end functionality of the DISN within CONUS and OCONUS traffic that either originates or terminates within CONUS. This will include responsibility to support DISN implementation and cutover. Options for additional switching services and bandwidth management services and migration to new services will allow for growth and technical insertion to the DISN. Industry comments in response thereto should be mailed to DITCO/DTS22, at the address cited below, no later than 11 August 1995. A reading room with related reference material will be opened to coincide with the release date of the draft RFP at the DISN Program Management Office, located at 5111 Leesburg Pike, Skyline 5, 9th Floor, Room 9122, Falls Church, VA. The reading room is AVAILABLE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding Government holidays. The Government will not furnish copiers, faxes, telephones, or paper for contractor use.
