It is the intent of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to award a contract to AT&T under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) entitled Only One Responsible Source And No Other Supplies Or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(6) entitled National Security. This contract will provide for continuity of services and transition to the Defense Information System Network (DISN) for switched voice, data and video services. This contract will be for a period not-to-exceed fifteen (15) months. This is a follow-on contract to DCA200-84-C-0015, commonly referred to as the Defense Commercial Telecommunications Contract (DCTN). The Defense Information Systems Agency has initiated the acquisition process for the DISN. The DISN is a subelement of the Defense Information Infrastructure (DII), and is the Department of Defense (DoD) consolidated worldwide enterprise level telecommunications infrastructure that will provide end-to-end information capability to support DoD operations. The following information concerning the four (4) acquisitions is provided for information purposes only: (1) DISN Support Services - Global (DSSG): This acquisition is for program management support, engineering support, integrated logistics planning support, provisioning support, installation support, network management support, database management support, operations support, and maintenance support services in support of the DISN Program. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be distributed in 4th QTR FY 1995 with a planned award in 3rd QTR FY 1996. (2) DISN Switch/Bandwidth Manager Services - CONUS (DS/BMSC): This acquisition will be for switch and bandwidth manager services in support of the DISN Program. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be distributed in the 4th QTR FY 1995 with a planned award in 4th QTR 1996. (3) DISN Transmission Services - CONUS (DTSC): This requirement will be for backbone and access area transmission services in support of the DISN Program. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be distributed in the 4th QTR FY 1995 with a planned award in 4th QTR 1996. (4) DISN Video Services - Global (DVSG): This requirement will be for reservation based and dial-up video services in support of the DISN Program. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be distributed in the 4th QTR FY 1995 with a planned award in 4th QTR 1996.
