COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 28,1995 PSA#1377CONSTRUCTION QUALITY MANAGEMENT FOR CONTRACTORS COURSE ``Effective as
of 1 July 1995, according to a new Corps of Engineers Guide Spec
Section 01440, titled Contractor Quality Control, subparagraph 3.4.4,
titled ``Additional Requirement'' became effective. It requires
successful completion of the course entitled ``Construction Quality
Management for Contractors'' for Contractors Quality Control Systems
Manages for all construction contracts over one (1) million dollars.
This course will be presented by Baltimore District Construction
Division and will be offered for all construction contracts awarded
after 1 July 1995. The formal classroom course will be twelve (12)
hours long (one and one half work days) with adequate time for student
participation, breaks, lunch, and will also include pre-and
post-testing. Upon successful completion of this course, a certificate
of completion will be given and remain valid for five (5) years, at
which time retraining will be required. These classes will be presented
at least six times per year and be held in the Baltimore District Corps
of Engineers, City Crescent Building, 10 South Howard, Baltimore,
Maryland or at other site(s) if conditions warrant. The classes will be
limited to 25 students on a first-come basis and will cost three
hundred dollars ($300) and will begin in late July 1995. Individual
Contract Specifications will describe these requirements. The
successful bidder will have ninety (90) calendar days after NTP
issuance to have their Contractor's Quality Control Systems Manage
