announcement of the Dust Collection, Electrical and Catch Basin
Upgrades at the Potomoc Job Corps Center, Washington, D.C., Issue No.
PSA-1365 dated June 13, 1995, and replace it with the following:
Z--Dust collection, electrical and catch basin upgrades at the Potomoc
Job Corps Center located in Washington, D.C. The work to be performed
under this project consists of Building No. 51 Carpentry Shop
requiring a dust collection system to serve all dust producing
equipment, electrical work. Other electrical work involves upgrading
panels, circuit breakers and circuits to adequately serve electrical
loads in Buildings No. 7 and 14. Bid Alternate #1: Building No. 7 -
Connect two external downspouts on the North side of the building to
the existing storn water system; Provide new piping, boots, excavation
and repair of existing sidewalk; Construct new catch basins at low
points on the North side of the building to prevent ponding in the
area. Locate new catch basins to suit existing grade; and perform
calculations and verify adequacy of the existing storm water pipe and
upgrade if required. Bid Alternate #2: Buildings No. 3, 4, and 5.
Provide all necessary excavation, piping, and swales to relieve water
pressure on the existing retaining wall; Direct storm water to the
existing catch basins located near Buildings No. 3 and 5, providing any
piping and./or connections that may be necessary. The estimated cost
range is $100,000 to $250,000 (cost range includes alternates).
Substantial completion shall be in 182 calendar days, (time for the
alternates included), from the notice to proceed. Plans and
Specifications will be available on July 10, 1995, from the office of
the Architect/Engineer, Beck, Powell and Parsons, Incorporated, 2204
Maryland Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21218, Contact Pete Powell (410)
235-9500 for additional information regarding this project. Collect
calls will not be accepted. It is emphasized that requests for plans
and specifications shall be directed to the A/E firm listed above to
ensure proper handling of requests. All requests must be in writing.
Requests will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until
supplies are exhausted. For requests made after the supply is
exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a
fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual
cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A pre-bid
walk-thru is scheduled for July 25, 1995, at 9:00 a.m. local time. Bid
opening date is August 9, 1995, at 2:00 p.m. local time. This is a
100% SmalL Business Set-Aside. The SIC Codes for this project are 1731,
