The project consists of replacing two air handling units in the basement of the main hospital, Building 500, along with associated duct, piping, and electrical work required to replace the two units. No asbestos or lead abatement is anticipated. Required performance period is 175 calendar days after date of Notice to Proceed (work will be done in three phases totalling 175 days). Estimated magnitude of project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Solicitation will be issued on or about July 13, 1995. Actual bid due date will be 30 calendar days after actual issue date. Solicitation shall be 100% set-aside for SMALL DISADVANTAGED BUSINESSES (SDBs) and solicitation packages will be issued ONLY to SDB firms. Note that, under Federal law, woman-owned businesses are considered disadvantaged only if the owner(s) are among the racial and ethnic groups determined socially and economically disadvantaged by the Small Business Administration, such as Hispanic American, African American, Native American, Asian Pacific American, and Subcontinent Asian American.
