Krutz, 601/686-5361, Contract Specialist The U.S. Department of Agriculture intends to procure a sole source contract with Ameritech Library Services, 5300 Cedarwood Drive, Raleigh, NC 27609 for an Integrated Library Software package that must include the implementation of the following modules; on-line public access catalog, cataloging and authority control with means for importing records directly from Online Computer Library Center, acquisitions, serials, and circulation. In addition, the software must possess the follow- ing characteristics or be capable of performing the following functions: (a.) software must be a true client-server architec- ture with distributed processing that allows computing across the network; (b.) staff client software must run under a multi- tasking operation system so that multiple operations may be active simultaneously; (c.) software must be a graphical user interface (GUI) for all modules; (d.) must adhere to accepted library standards such as using MARC, NISO Z39.50,X.12, and SQL; (e.)) system must be capable of operating from multiple platforms; (f.) software must have a seamless interphase to Silverplatter CD-ROM databases; (g.) must be compatible with network using TCP/IP Novell SPX/IPX, and Windows NT; (h.) must use a standard relational database management system. and (i.) training must be provided on-site. Software support should be provided as a team approach. All interested parties may express their interest and ability to meet the requirements through submission of clear and convincing documentation on their product o the contracting officer within 15 days after the date of this notice.
