COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 29,1995 PSA#1378Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, 7000 East Avenue, Livermore, CA
94550 A -- CONTAMINATION ANALYSIS UNIT AVAILABLE FOR COLLABORATION AND/OR
LICENSING: A NEAR REAL-TIME CLEANLINESS PROCESS CONTROL TECHNOLOGY For
further information, contact Industrial Partnerships &
Commercialization, at (510) 423-3139. Announcement The Lawrence
Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), operated by the University of
California under contract with the Department of Energy, is seeking
industrial collaborators to commercialize a cleanliness verification
instrument developed at LLNL. The Contamination Analysis Unit (CAU)
enables process or manufacturing engineers to monitor volatile and
semivolatile surface contamination levels on parts during cleaning
operations. The technology uses vacuum and thermal disorption with mass
spectrometry detection. The feedback from this instrument can help
reduce waste generation and air emissions caused by over- or
under-cleaning and eliminate certain types of pollution in various
industries. The University of California's Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory can license technology through limited exclusive or
nonexclusive licensing agreements. By moving critical Technology beyond
the Laboratory and into the commercial realm, LLNL helps its U.S.
licensees gain a competitive edge in the marketplace. All projects will
be conducted under policies of strict nondisclosure of company
proprietary information. Equipment manufacturers in the following
industries or product areas who are interested in jointly developing
and commercializing the CAU technology are invited to partcipate: mass
spectrometry instrumentation or vacuum equipment, instrumentation,
automotive, electronic, and aerospace. Interested parties should
respond to this announcement with a short (two-page maximum)
description of their company history, their expertise in this
technological area, and their present position in the market. Please be
specific in discussing any resources that the company would consider
using to bring this product to market. (174) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0010 19950628\A-0010.SOL)
