Sterling Software (U.S.), Inc., NASA Ames Division (Sterling) is soliciting proposals for services required to perform computer security support at the Numerical Aerodynamic Simulation (NAS) Facility located at NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California. Sterling currently provides computer security support through the Computational Capabilities Resources (CCR) contract. The services to be furnished by the Subcontractor shall be performed on-site at NASA Ames Research Center on their UNIX systems (Cray, Convex, Sun, SGI, HP, IBM) and networks. Support services shall be worked in conjunction with the Sterling security analyst. Required support services shall include ongoing support tasks such as: security logs review, security tools maintenance (C and shell scripts), new tools review, new UNIX releases evaluation, security alerts review, rotating 24-hour on-call duties, and security incidents investigation. The support services shall also include research and development tasks such as: the development and implementation of a NAS security model, the implementation of a secure X-500 server which authenticates and maintains remote user privacy, the design and implementation of a token card one-time password system, the improvement of UNIX encryption subroutines, the modification of vendor supplied /bin/passwd software to meet NASA requirements, the implementation of a risk analysis, and the implementation of an annual self-security audit. The subcontract term shall be for a period of one year, with a one year option. The expected Level of Effort is one Full Time Equivalent. U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for prospective subcontractors. (173)
