Q -- ON-SITE X-RAY TECHNICIAN SERVICES, SOL IFB 157-0025. DUE 090595. POC Deborah Townson, Contract Specialist, 334-264-1820. The Federal Prison Camp, Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, AL, proposes to make a single award, on a firm-fixed-price, requirements basis, for the provision of on-site x-ray technician services. Session length for provision of services is three (3) hours, and it is anticipated that two (2) sessions per week will be utilized, if available funding permits. The initial contract period is from date of award through September 30, 1996, with four successive 12-month option renewal periods, running from October 1 through September 30 of the respective years. Successful contractor must provide evidence of graduation from a two-year AMA accredited x-ray program and must have successfully passed the National Registry examination (as administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology. Contractor will be required to maintain medical liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 per occurrence. A minimum of three (3) years of verifiable experience as an x-ray technician is required. Contractual duties will include provision of routine x-ray services as scheduled by health services staff; provision of in-service education to medical staff regarding x-ray procedures; provision of preventative maintenance and quality assurance assessments on x-ray equipment; and maintain accountability of all films sent for interpretation, with written documentation to support films sent out and films received. For more specific information detailing the responsibilities of this contractual position, refer to Section C of the solicitation package. There is some flexibility as to days and hours on which performance is required; however, all sessions must be performed Monday through Friday, exclusive of Federal holidays, and must be commenced after 6:00 a.m. and completed prior to 6:00 p.m. Detailed security investigative procedures will be required as outlined in Section H of the solicitation package and will include, but not be limited to, a urinalysis, fingerprinting, NCIC check, and five-year verification of employers.
