Specialist, 606/598-1900, Ext. 4130. The Federal Bureau of Prisons
(BOP) is seeking Quality Assurance/Improvement Specialist services to
support medical facilities in a correctional setting. Quality
Assurance/ Improvement Specialist Services will require contractor to
be responsible for collection of data from medical records relating to
a QA/I program, including but not limited to, Quality
Assurance/Improvement process in all sections of the Health Services
department; Risk Management issues, Utilization Review/Peer Review and
submitting reports to the OA/I Committee. This will include the
identification and establishment of clinical indicators, initiation of
proper follow-up and focus review procedures, and written reports
detailing all QA/I activities. Also, will include monitoring patients
conditions and progress who are in chronic care clinics. Will collect
data relating to any adverse trends in patient care and outcome,
including morbidity and mortality, and report this data to the QA/I
Committee. Will review medical records of patients receiving
specialized care, including outside medical trips, and submit to
committee issues relating to continuity of patient care. Must be a
graduate of at least a Licensed Practical Nurse program, Nursing
program, or formal Medical Records program. Must possess current state
nursing license or A.R.T. certification. Must have at least 1 year
experience in the medical field after completion of formal training.
Contractor will be required to perform Quality Assurance/Improvement
services at the Federal Correctional Institution and Federal Prison
Camp in Manchester, Kentucky for fiscal year 1996 and two option years.
This position will work no more than fifteen (15) sessions per week
consisting of two (2) hour per session. Anticipated government needs
will not exceed 780 sessions per year. Supplies and equipment will be
provided by the Government. This is a small business/labor surplus set
