The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI), Manchester, KY, intends to award a non-personal service contract for providing Medical Assistant services to the inmate population at the FCI and Camp for fiscal year 1996. The Contractor will provide services 36 hours per week consisting of three (3), 2-hour sessions per day, Monday through friday, excluding holidays. The Contractor, at a minimum, must be a high school graduate, have a medical/technical background obtained through formal education and/or exprience working in the medical field, or a graduate of an accredited professional program in the medical field and have at least one year experience as a Medical Assistant. The Contractor will provide, but is not limited to the following: Performs initial assessment of patients for further evaluation by a PA or a Physician. Triages emergency add-on patients, administers routine first aid with referral to PA or Physician staff for final evaluation and dispostion, performs non-invasive and reversible medical care procedures such as dressing changes, assists in taking x-rays, drawing blood specimens for laboratory processing, PPD skin testing, performs EKGs, performs vision screening and audiometry testing. Assists with corrdination of follow-up visits, scheduling and monitoring of chronic clinic patients. The Federal Correctional Institution, Manchester, KY intends to award a base year contract in FY 1996 with options to renew the contract for four (4) consecutive years.
