Contact Point, Gayla J. Horn, Contract Specialist, 606/598-1900. The
Federal Bureau of Prisons is seeking a qualified individual capable of
providing Laboratory Technician Services at FCI, Manchester. Services
include, but are not limited to: maintaining appropriate documentation
of all lab tests performed including a speciment acquisition log of all
lab specimens taken for testing. Recording all lab results of those
in-house test performed and also those results received from the
contract laboratory. Performing routine lab tests that are available
in-house, (ie. urinalysis, CBC and blood glucose). Follows all
pertinent OSHA guidelines regarding current blood and body fluid
precautions, including, but not limited to, wearing appropriate safety
gear (lab costs, gloves, protective eyewear, etc.). Contractor will
adhere to the guidelines of the HIV Testing program according to
current policy. Collects and processes specimen for testing at the
contract lab or all HIV testing. Also, performs and documents quality
control on all tests done in-house on a daily basis. The estimated
issue date of the Request for Proposal is July 17, 1995, with an
anticipated Receipt of Offers date of August 16, 1995. The contract
period will include a base year not to exceed twelve months with (2)
one year option periods for renewal. Requests for proposals should be
in writing only. Telephone and facsimile requests will not be accepted.
