The contractor provide scheduled and unscheduled inspection, repair, maintenance and tankcar pressure testing for railcars (boxcars, flatcars and tankcars) including, but not limited to, the following components: air and hand brakes, trucks and springs; journal boxes and bearings; wheels, axles and trucks; couplings and hoses; undercarriage; doors; boxcars exterior and interior; markings; and dunnage systems in strict accordance with the solicitation. The contract shall be for a twelve (12) month period. The resultant contract will be a combination firm fixed price/indefinite quantity type contract. All work shall be completed in strict accordance with the specifications. The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) for this procurement is 8999. The size standard is $3.5 million. IFB's will be issued on/about 19 July 1995. The proposed procurement will be issued as unrestricted - open to large and small business concerns. Performance period will be one year commencing 15 days after notice of award. Performance period will be 12 months from date of award.
