V -- SPECIAL PURPOSE STORAGE SERVICES SOL 8167 DUE 083195 POC POC Karen Phillips, (703)648-7372/Georgiann Wilson, (703)648-7367 The U.S. Geological Survey requires storage and retrieval for approximately 7,000 magnetic media (reel, cartridge, diskette) in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This service will include regularly schedule and special on-call pickup and delivery. While in transit temperature and humidity changes must not exceed the following range: 40 degrees Fahrenheit to 90 degrees Fahrenheit (4 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius) 5 percent relative humidity to 80 percent relative humidity. When required, the Contractor must be capable of transferring Automatic Cartridge Loader (Storage Technology 4400) clipper carts directly into a vaulting cart for direct transportation to the storage facility to support mainframe disaster recovery. HEPA filters must be used on all vacuum equipment used in the storage facility. The contractor must scan all bar-coded magnetic media that enters and leaves the off-site storage facility. The magnetic media shall be stored in a vault constructed of noncombustible material. The facility in which the vault is located cannot be used for other purposes which create a high risk and may jeopardize the vault and its contents. The contractor shall provide Disaster Recovery pick-up and delivery support to include transportation of magnetic media and other materials (printouts, etc.) to a designated USGS Hot-Site. The contractors facility and personnels assigned to this project shall have appropriate security clearances. The anticipated period of performance is for a basic year of twelve months and four 1-year option periods. This procurement is a total small business set- aside.
