35 -- DIESEL CRANE LOCOMOTIVE Contact, Gail Sudul, Purchasing Agent, 702/295-2140. Reynolds Electrical & Engineering Co., Inc. (REECo), prime management and operations contractor to the Nevada Operations Office of the U.S. Department of Energy. Seeks to identify qualified sources for a diesel crane locomotive. The diesel crane locomotive shall be 25-ton (22,700 kg) and equipped with a 15-ton (13,600 kg) telescopic straight-boom hydraulic crane for use in a tunnel project. The unit shall be furnished with the necessary outriggers and an engine driven hydraulic pump for crane operations. The unit shall be configured to operate on 36 inch gauge 85# ASCE track with a gradient of plus or minus 3 percent. The overall width of the unit in transportation mode shall not exceed 55 inches. The engine shall meet 30 CFR requirements for emissions. The unit shall be furnished with air brakes and an automatic fire suppression system. Only interested firms capable of manufacturing or supplying the unit who after-sales service and support capabilities should respond. We contemplate that this acquisition will be set-aside to small businesses who employ 500 employees or less, unless an adequate number of small businesses are not identified. This does not mean that a large business cannot respond to this sources sought synopsis.
