D -- PURCHASE OF ORACLE LICENSES AND RELATED INSTALLATION SUPPORT SOL 213-95-0025 POC Dianne Frank tel: 301/443-6550/Jacqueline R. Jones, Contracting Officer DHHS/PHS/Division of Acquisition Management, ADP Acquisitions Branch has a requirement for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)/Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) to purchase 288 Oracle licenses and related installation support. The Government knows of one source, Oracle Corporation, 3 Bethesda Metro Center, Suite 1400, Bethesda, MD 20814 that has the capability of providing this service. CDER currently runs Oracle software on a VAXcluster comprised of one VAX 6000-610 and two VAX 6000-620s. The Contractor shall provide the following Oracle licenses for 288 users: Oracle RDBMS V7, Parallel Server Option, SQL*Forms/Menu, SQL*Text Retrieval, SQL*Report Writer, SQL*Plus, Pro*COBOL, Pro*C, SQL*Net, DECnet Driver, and TCP/IP Driver. The Contractor shall provide written confirmation that the licenses have been purchased within 30 days of the effective date of the contract. The Government also requires the Contractor to provide on-call installation support, with a 48 hour response time, on an as needed basis for a period of 18 months from the effective date of the contract. On-call installation support is to include monitoring of the database as the user load increases, tuning the database parameters, and trouble-shooting problems related to the increased user load. The Contractor shall be required to perform the above services at the Government's facility. The anticipated period of performance for this requirement is 18 months from the effective date of the contract. No solicitation is available, therefore requests for this document will be considered invalid responses. Concerns having the ability to provide the services stated above must submit written notification that demonstrates thier ability to satisfy the entire requirement to the attention of Dianne Frank, referencing solicitation number 213-95-0025. If no affirmative responses are received within 45 days from the date this synopsis is published, the Contracting Officer will proceed with this acquisition to Oracle Corporation.
