Provide onsite services in the field of Remedial Instructor in the classrooms and offices of the Education Departments at the Federal Prison Camp and the Federal Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky. This is considered a contractual agreement and not a personnel appointment. The estimated issue date of this solicitation is July 15, 1995. The contractor shall provide on a non-discriminatory basis, remedial instruction in the areas or sub-courses which support positive work habits and assist inmates for job opportunities after incarceration. The instructor will provide services in the following course areas which will, when completed, enhance the student's ability to obtain a diploma or certificate that is recognized by the General; Education Development Testing Association; Writing Skills, Social Studies, Literature, Mathematics, and Science. At a minimum, the contractor should hold a certification to teach in the state of Kentucky, and a Bachelor's Degree in the educational field. Services will consist of the following schedule: five sessions per week, a session being defined as four (4) hours in length. The anticipated period of performance is from date of award through September 30, 1996. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. This requirement is set aside for small business. The Standard Industrial Code is 8299.
