Sealed bids will be accepted from all business concerns for Cumberland Gap National Historical Park Project DPS-0025(004) in Bell County, Kentucky; Lee County, Virginia; and Claiborne County, Tennessee. The project consists of the relocation of U.S. Routes 58 and 25E to their final alignments so as to provide vehicular traffic through the twin tunnels at the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. The project includes grading, drainage, hot asphalt concrete pavement, concrete retaining walls, and other miscellaneous work. Principal items of work and approximate quantities are as follows: Embankment Construction: 102,000 CUYD; Aggregate Base, 6-inch depth: 96,600 SQYD; Hot Asphalt Concrete Pavement: 31,900 TON; Structural Concrete: 850 CUYD; Guardrail System, Type G4: 9600 LNFT; Concrete Barrier: 1950 LNFT. The project is expected to fall within the price range of $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 and has a construction completion date of July 1, 1997.
