The Air Force Development Test Center (AFDTC) intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, TERMA Electronics, Suite 302, 45313 Straton Terrace, Sterling VA, for an S-band radar antenna unit, model number ED6200. It operates at 2450mhz that has the compatible connections for interfacing with TERMA DR5000 velocity analyzer and is ''off-the-shelf'' not in development. The antenna has a beam width of 15 degrees vertical, 10 degrees horizontal, 22db gain, and is of the flat plate, microstrip type. The transmitter is crystal controlled. The receiver has a band width of .8 to 50 KHZ (50 to 3000 m/s). Power to operate the antenna is 110 volts at 48 to 62 Hz with a power consumption of less than 100 watts. The maximum dimensions are 36 inches x 24 inches x 5 inches with a maximum weight 60 pounds. The range performance is better than 160,000 times the caliber of the item being tracked. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1. TERMA Electronics is the only known source that can meet the government's minimum essential requirements for an S-Band Radar Antenna Unit, that is compatible to interface with the TERMA DR5000 Radar System on site. Standard commercial warranty on electrical and mechanical components is required. Required delivery is 4 weeks after award of contract.
