58 -- AUDIO/VIDEO ROUTING SYSTEM EQUIPMENT POC Gail Bumgardner tel: 334/953-2772/2Lt Rengel, (334) 953-7212 CNT F01600-95-R0040 Air University Television Cable Network has a requirement to purchase equipment for a video and audio routing system. The system shall have 64 inputs and 64 outputs. System shall have central control performed on an IBM compatible personal computer with a color VGA monitor. Router commands will be controlled through a standard IBM parallel or RS-422 interface using either single user or multi user software. System must contain a graphical routing system software that will show color icons of video and audio sources and destinations. Icons will be capable of having at least two lines of eight character text describing the device name and a graphic of the device. The source shall be indicated by a white arrow in the upper right corner. The destination(s) devices in that same path must be indicated with similar coloring of the icon(s). System must have a software breakaway feature for left and right channel audio and video breakaway. Breakaway must be performed by clicking on a color icon on the screen labeled ''Breakaway.'' System must contain a patch or insert mode feature that allows the output of a source device to be sent to the input of a destination device. The destination device then sends its output to another destination device. Multiple destinations must be capable of being set up and switched in the vertical blanking interval (VBI) of the signal. The entire cross point array must be capable of switching in the VBI. System must contain an append mode, allowing a non-technical person to add additional destinations or output devices to existing jobs by clicking icons on the screen. System must contain easy to use smart switches. This allows for custom system configurations so that by touching a ''master setup switch'', an operator can set up the entire facility. The software will allow creation of Smart Switches (macros) via the color monitor. The system must have ''time of day control'' capabilities which will allow, among other things, channel sharing. By entering a specific time of day, the system will perform a control function at the specific time. System shall have a master reset that will allow all switches to be initialized by clicking on an icon on the color screen. System must have a default software setting that allows the operator to assign any input on the system to a logo channel. When a destination is not in use, the default input channel will be sent to that destination. The video and audio control system must have a simple command language for RS-232 interface, allowing control for routing, smart switches, reconfiguration and the ability to launch smart switches. The system must have ''machine control'' for the 16 VCRs currently in use. This requires a menu to set start time, stop time, stop and/or rewind. Supporting equipment such as equipment racks, blank filler panels, audio/video patch panels, and patch cords will also be required. All components must work as a system, and match the existing racks and patch panels, and jack fields. This office wants to determine if there are any interested and capable vendors to fulfill this requirement. Interested firms are invited to submit detailed information describing their equipment. Acknowledgment of receipt will not be made; however, sources deemed qualified will be considered for future solicitations. This is not a request for proposal and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government. Prospective sources should submit the required data within 15 days after this publication. (0181)
