59 -- REPAIR AND MODIFICATION OF FORWARD LOOKING INFRARED SOL N00164-95-R-0213 DUE 082195 POC Contact, Ms. Terry Davis, Code 1164EJ, 812-854-3704, telefax 812-854-3465, Mr. Doug McDaniel, Contracting Officer The Navy requires repair and modification of the Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) utilized on the Marine Corps Avenger Weapons Systems. The FLIR will be provided as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and shall require testing to verify that major components used in the upgrade modification are not damaged/defective. Upon conclusion of testing and determination of acceptable reusable components, the system shall be slightly modified in accordance with approved engineering change proposal. Testing of the modified FLIR shall be completed by the contractor prior to shipment to NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane. One optional X12 lens that will adapt to the front of the FLIR shall be provided, and lens specification shall be included. A minimum of two tests shall be performed with the initial test occurring upon receipt to verify the failure and determine status of reusable components and the second test conducting a complete check of the unit after repair and modification. A final report detailing all required equipment modifications and test results shall be required. This procurement will be solicited utilizing other than full and open competition procedures due to proprietary information possessed by Magnavox Electronic Systems Company, Mahwah, NJ. The contract type is anticipated to be a Firm-Fixed Price, Supply contract with delivery to be F.o.b. destination to NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane within 120 days after award. Numbered Note 22 applies.
