Patrick AFB intends to acquire on a sole source basis from KW Controls Systems, Inc. one on-line diesel-supported rotary uninterruptible power supply system (UPS). The UPS shall include a 500 kVA, 400 kW, critical system rated, on-line, synchronous rotary power conditioner coupled to a diesel engine and clutch with a UPS/Engine control module, a separate 500 kVA, 400 kW, essential system supplied by the motor of the rotary power conditioner during diesel operation, automatic transfer switch for the essential load, UPS batteries for at least three (3) minutes (''end of life'' rated) support time at 25 degrees Celsius for 400 kW critical system load, DC disconnect switch, maintenance bypass external to the UPS module, remote annunciator panel, and all controls and accessories necessary for the equipment to function properly as a system. Diesel operation shall occur only on utility failures of greater than 5-second duration, except for startup, testing, or manual initiation for load curtailment. The diesel engine and clutch shall be standby rated to support the critical load plus 10%, and the essential load plus 10%. The system shall be capable of connection to a personal computer via RS 232 connection for monitoring and diagnostics.
