The Microbiology Section within Dept of Pathology, Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii has a requirement to purchase on an as needed basis, various quantities of DNA probe for diagnostic identification of chlamydia, n. gonorrhoeae, mycobacterium sp, gp a streptococcus and specimen collection kits. The contractor shall furnish, install, and maintain contractor-owned equipment, provide user training, technical assistance on a rental basis. Furnished equipment shall have the capability to perform tests using a chemiluminescent marker that is complimentary to the ribosomal messenger RNA of the garget organisms. Contractor-owned equipment shall be provided on a assay, equipment rental or equivalent basis in which the cost of the reagents, kits and consumable supplies includes equipment rental, maintenance, hardware/software upgrades, and user training. The Government intends to negotiate solely with Gen-Probe, 9880 Campus Dr, San Diego, CA 92121-1589 for a firm fixed-price requirements contract for the base year + (4) option years, under the authority of FAR 6.302.1.
