(410) 671-3821 The U.S. Army Chemical and Biological Defense Command is
seeking qualified sources to provide pathological support services
under arequirements contract for inhalation, dermal and oral toxicity
studies on laboratory animals (rodents, swine, sheep, ferrets and
chickens). The areas of investigation will include Gross necropsies at
a Government site, histopathology, data evaluation and tissue
photography and immunohistochemical techniques work at the contractor'S
facility. This effort will provide a greater understanding of the
toxicological effects of potential chemical munitions at the
tissue/cellular level. Effort must be conducted within the guidelines
set Forth in ''Good laboratory practice (GLP) for nonclinical
laboratory studies, FDA'' (CFR ref. 21, part 58, April 1990).
Performance will require expertise in pathology and biology. An
American college of veterinary pathology Board certified pathologist
and an American society of clinical pathologist'S certified histologist
are required for this effort. Supporting facilities shall include a GLP
approved storage area for all slides and tissues generated. A security
clearance and storage capacity for confidential information shall be
required for contract performance. The resulting requirements contract
will comprise a thirty-Six month effort. The Solicitation is a 100%
