proposed study will evaluate the effects of the implementation of PUT
PREVENTION INTO PRACTICE (PPIP) materials in Health Maintenance
Organizations (HMOs) and Community and Migrant Health Clinics (CMHCs).
PPIP is a U.S. Public Health Service initiative, targeted at patients,
providers, and office/clinic systems, to improve the delivery of
clinical preventive services (counceling, screening tests, and
immunizations) in primary care settings and help achieve the goals of
HEALTHY PEOPLE 2000. A research design and set of data-collection
instruments has been developed for evaluation of PPIP and will be
available for use in the study. Data will be used to refine and improve
materials, test their effectiveness with diverse populations, settings,
and providers, and provide information to assist health care providers,
organizations, and the academic community in determining the
appropriate use of these materials in clinical practice and education.
