The contractor will be required to raise the existing boathouse three feet. In addition, the boathouse shall be lengthened eight feet by adding atimber truss, purlins, columns, walls, pile caps, and piles. The boathouse will require new roofing and siding and partial reconstruction of wall framing. In addition, two new 53 foot long by 8 foot wide concrete floating piers shall be provided withrequired utilities--including compressed air, potable water, and electricity. The contractor shall remove and dispose of existing timber pile dolphins and replace with new. Approximately 10 new square prestressed concrete piles shall be installed.Structural steel bracing between existing concrete piles shall be installed. The contractor will be required to remove and dispose of existing underground oily water and fuel pipes. The soil beneath the existing pipes will be tested by the contractorfor contamination. An existing above ground fuel tank will be relocated and new pumps, hose reels, and hoses will be provided. The contractor will use an existing float and brow to provide temporary moorage adjacent to the boathouse basin. Estimatedprice range is $500,000 to $1,000,000. Estimated construction period is 6 months. This project is not set-aside. SIC Code 1542. Bidding packages, including the plans and specifications will be available about July 17 for a fee of $20 per set. Bidpackages must be ordered in writing with a check or money order made out to ''U.S. Coast Guard'' at the address above. The fee is nonrefundable.
