Modifications to the Power System and Power Service Building to accomodate the installation of the future Air Traffic Control System equipment. Modifications to the control wing to accomodate the installation of the Initial Sector Suite System and the installation of the Critical Power System in the Automation wing located at the Washington Air Route Traffic Control Center in Leesburg, VA. The estimated procurement is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. Work for the Power System Modifications to be completed within five hundred and eighty (580) calendar days. Work for Initial Sector Suite System to be completed within four hundred and thirteen (413) calendar days. Bids sets to be available on or about September 14, 1992. This procurement is unrestricted as to size standards. For Minority, Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000.00 per contract to provide accounts receivalbe financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000.00 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
