The US Army Soldier Systems Command is conducting a MARKET SURVEY to compile a list of manufacturers who currently have uniquely designed, modular body armor vests available commercially. The following level of protection is desired: fragmentation vest protection equal to personnel Armor System for Ground Troops (PASGT) vest, and upgrade front and back modules capable of defeating 7.62 X 39 and 5.45 X 39 ball projectiles. Although this is the desired level of protection, uniquely designed vest with other than this level of protection will be considered. Interested firms must submit by no later than 28 July 1995 information on their products which meet the stated requirements. This should include at a minimum photographs or illustrations with descriptive information regarding materials used, any supporting ballistic test data, and cost. Any other specific information which the firm believes demonstrates its ability to provide such ballistic vests, such as previous related experience or list of facilities, may be included. In addition, please include whether or not the firm is small business, woman owned or socially or economically disadvantaged.
