MEXICO: RADIOACTIVE WASTE The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 95.185. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: MEXICO. Title and number of pages of the notified document: Draft Mexican Official Standard NOM-004-NUCL-1994, Classification of Radioactive Waste. 6. Description of content: The Standard establishes the criteria for the classification of radioactive waste produced by the nuclear industry, within the meaning of Article 11 of the Law establishing regulations under Article 27 of the Constitution with respect to nuclear matters. 7. Objective and rationale: The classification of radioactive waste enables the criteria and requirements to be established with a view to safety in operations of handling, treatment, packaging, transport and temporary and definitive storage of such waste. 8. Relevant documents: Diario Oficial de la Federacion (Official Journal) of 20 March 1995. 9.
