Naval Medical Logistics Command has a requirement for technical support
for 12 Olympus AU800 clinical analyzers. The Navy intends to negotiate
with Olympus American Incorporated, Two Corporate Center Drive,
Melville, NY 11747 as the only source that can provide the following
technical support and maintenance. Olympus shall provide training;
parts and accessories, software and hardware maintenance (preventive
and unscheduled) to insure the maximum availability for testing from
the AU800 clinical analyzers, located in San Diego, CA; Jacksonville,
FL; Great Lakes, IL; Brooks Air Force Base, TX; Fort Meade, MD; and
Tripler AMC, HI. Olympus shall provide operator and service training
for seven people annually (equivalent to that provided by Olympus in
the AU800 operator's training course), and for one person annually
(equivalent to that provided by Olympus in the AU800 engineers training
course). Olympus's service representatives shall have training
equivalent to the Olympus AU800 engineers training course and shall
respond on-site with a suitable set of repair parts to fix 95% of all
failures. Olympus shall obtain, provide, install, and support all AU800
software updates for all instruments. All services performed must be in
compliance with FDA good manufacturing processes. Olympus shall provide
all services required to maintain the instruments such that downtime
does not exceed 2% of the actual available hours. Olympus shall have
five years of proven experience servicing laboratory analyzers, And two
years of successful experience servicing of the AU800s. This notice is
not a request for competitive proposals. Responses shall contain
sufficient documentation to establish a bonafied capability to fulfill
