Scope of Work: Pontiac, Michigan, Social Security Administration Building. ``HVAC'' Improvements. This project has a base bid and two alternates to be bid. This project includes, but is not limited to, the following items: Abate asbestos containing insulation on piping in mechanical room. Remove one existing gas fired hot water heating boiler and associated piping & breeching and pumps, and replace with new 15 boiler horsepower firetube boiler, piping & breeching and pumps. Replace two (2) 30 Ton rooftop multi-zone air conditioning units with two (2) new 25 Ton rooftop variable volume air conditioning units. Add variable volume boxes and heaters to existing ductwork. Add three (3) control valves to existing perimeter hydronic heating system. Replace seventeen (17) zone and perimeter thermostats with new electronic units. New DDC system with control points & wiring for new boiler, rooftop units, new control valves and thermostats. System shall be totally compatible with Andover Nucleus and Andover SX8000 software. Alternates: Replace rooftop multi-zone air conditioning units with two (2) new 25 Ton Multi-zone units. Delete control valves from perimeter heating system. All work will be performed in accordance with the contract documents. The total estimated cost of construction for work covered by this solicitation is between $250,000 and $500,000, with a 302 calendar day construction period after receipt of notice to proceed. Specifications and drawings will be available on or about July 11, 1995. Sealed bids will be opened publicly on August 15, 1995, 11 A.M. (local time). This project is set-aside for small business concerns. The small business size standard for this size project is $7,000,000 and funding is currently not available.
