(703) 663-7478. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division
(NSWCDD) is undertaking a three phase development program to improve
upon the performance of the current lead/fluoboric acid/lead dioxide
reserve energizer (RE) fuze battery used to power projectile fuzes. The
improvements in REs require a change in chemistry. A lithium based
reserve battery is considered the best candidate for replacing the
current technology to meet the increasing energy and power requirements
for advanced Navy projectile fuzes. The anticipated requirement is a
feasibility study for the development of a lithium based munitions fuze
battery. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be
considered. The anticipated solicitation closing date is 07 August
1995. A written request for Solicitation N00178-95-R-1061 should be
