GOVERNMENT OF The government of Mauritius has received a loan from the
international Bank of reconstruction and Development towards the cost
of construction of five State secondary schools at five different
locations in Mauritius, namely, grand bay, lallmatie, beau bassin,
Phoenix and plaine magnien the Ministry of Works invites tenders from
all qualified grade a contractors registered with the Ministry of
Works, Mauritius and international contractors from eligible countries
in Or without joint ventureship with one local grade a contractor the
Works consist of the construction, completlon and maintenance of phase
I of the construction project of five State secondary schools at below
mentioned addresses, all to be done in accordance with drawings and
specifications phase I of the project consists of the construction in
each school of a reinforced concrete block of eight classrooms, a two
Storey toilet block, linking corridors (of approximately gross Floor
area of 675 square meters per school) altogether with openings
finishes, plumbing, mechanical and electrical service, drainage,
external Works and all ancillary Works the construction of phase I for
all schools is scheduled to start on September 1 and should be
completed by December 1995 the tender documents for each school May be
obtained by calling in person Or in writing to Quantity Surveying
Office, Ministry of Works, Phoenix, Mauritius, telephone and Fax no
(230) 686-6320; price of each tender document is Mrs 500 (five hundred
mauritian rupees) Or US dols 30. Payments by Bank check Or draft
should be drawn to the order of the government of Mauritius Or be made
in cash the tender documents will be delivered on presentation of the
receipt to the Quantity Surveying Office, Ministry of Works, Phoenix,
Mauritius the Ministry of Works will promptly despatch the documents
by registered air mail but will not be responsible for the delivery Or
loss of documents for overseas applicants however, to save time,
Embassy is prepared to purchase and forward the tender documents

city Bank, and (III) chase Manhattan to expedite the transfer, the U.S.

addressed in separate envelopes to the chairman, central tender board

of key personnel, their names and qualifications, number of workmen
who will be employed for the present contract; (II) list of equipment
and plant owned by the tenderer including model an D capacity to be
made available for the execution of the present contract; (III) phased
details of the anticipated number of workmen and administrative staff
the tenderer proposes to employ during the period of execution of the
Works; (IV) details of any work proposed to be sublet together with
names and experience of the sub-contractors proposed; (V) a time
schedule for the completion of the project with sequence of Works and
important trades; (VI) list and cost of projects in hand and executed

of the contract, but will be taken into consideration during
