Project is located on the Elk City Ranger District of the Nez Perce National Forest, Idaho County, Idaho. Work includes clearing and windrowing logs and slash, and excavation and embankment to construct an earth-fill dam for the purpose of impounding sediment. Incidental work will include placement of impervious liner, drop inlets, and subsurface and surface stabilization. Location of Project: Take Highway 14 to Newsome Creek Road #1858 Junction, then proceed up Newsome Creek Road to the Newsome Townsite (approx 7 miles).
