Z -- TB TREATMENT AREA RENOVATION SOL 678-48-95 DUE 082895 POC Contact Point, Pam Hayes, (602)629-4611 The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, facilities, and supervision to renovate a total of 25 patient bed rooms and treatment rooms for negative pressure TB isolation. These rooms are located in 9 distinct areas of the Medical Center: Ward 3 East, Broncoscopy, Radiology, MICU, SICU, SDU-2, PACU, RTU, and Ward 1 North. A total of 7 new dedicated exhaust fans are to be installed and placed on emergency power, 6 of them with pre and HEPA filter sections. All rooms are to be equipped with a negative pressure monitoring system. Most of the architectural changes of this project exist on Ward 3 East, including the conversion of two single patient bed rooms to one double patient bed room and the creation of 5 private patient bath rooms with showers. It is the goal of this Medical Center to make a contract award for the construction of this project before the end of September 1995. However, due to seasonal bed capacity constraints, actual construction work on site will not begin until the week of April 29, 1996. The time between construction award and actual construction start will be used to complete all preliminary work and preparations (submitals, equipment orders, mobilization, etc.) such that the contractor will be able to begin construction work on April 29, 1996 and complete all construction work within the contract time without any delays. The contractor will have 90 calendar days from the start of construction (4-29-96) to complete all requirements of this contract. Bid package will be available to all qualified bidders on or about July 27, 1995. Funds are not presently available for this contract. The Government's obligation under this contract is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds from which payment for contract purposes can be made. No legal liability on the part of the Government for any payment may arise until funds are made available to the Contracting Officer for this contract and until the Contractor receives notice of such availability, to be confirmed in writing by the Contracting Officer.
