30 -- REDUCTION GEARS SOL DTCG40-95-B-20053 DUE 073195 POC Contact Linda Mannion, Contract Specialist, (410) 636-4338, Sandra McKay, Contracting Officer, (410) 636-4286 Reduction Gears - The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking qualified sources to inspect, overhaul, test, package, and ship the following Twin Disc reduction gears: Twin Disc MG-506-1 for 32' PWB vessels, NSN 3010-01-142-5147; Twin Disc MG-521 for 75' WLIC vessels, NSN 3010-01-058-0117; Twin Disc MG-540 for 160' WLIC vessels, NSN 3010-01-088-3782; Twin Disc MG-514 for 55' ANB vessels, NSN 3010-01-127-6490; and Twin Disc MG-518 for 82' WPB vessels, NSN 3010-01-136-5214. Overhaul shall include mandatory parts replacement. The form, fit, and function of these parts must be exactly compatible with the end item or system for which it is intended for on the reduction gears. This is critical to the end item or system functional characteristics. It has been determined in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 that the required replacement parts be obtained from Twin Disc and their authorized distributors due to the fact that exact compatibility with the end item is required. Overhaul of transmissions is required within sixty (60) calendar days or sooner after receipt of a Notice to Proceed by the Contracting Officer. Delivery is to be made to the U.S. Coast Guard Supply Center Curtis Bay, Baltimore, MD 21226-1792. A Requirements contract for one (1) base year and four (4) option years is anticipated. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. See Numbered Note 22. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
