The U.S. Army intends to enter into noncompetitive negotiations with GEC Marconi Electronic Systems Corporation for acquisition of Engineering Support Services for the AN/TSN-128, 137, 157, 128B and Fielded Doppler Navigation Sets. Acquisition is for a basic performance period of one year and four one year options. Unique testing equipment required for testing and analyzing the dopplers is not available. To become a user of the EBB you will need an identification code and password in addition to a computer terminal equipped with the necessary hardware and software to interface with the EBB system. This hardware and software required includes a computer, modem, telephone line, communication software, word processing software and a printer. If one intends to print downloaded files (after decompressing) a fast, higher resolution printer is advantageous. The EBB itself is an IBM compatible computer running commercial bulletin board software. The EBB is equipped with Hayes Ultra 14.4 baud modems that are capable of supporting other Hayes compatible 14,400 baud or lower modems User's computer must be equipped with a Hayes compatible 14.4 (or slower modem. (Baud rates less than 2400 are not recommended). The EBB runs on MS-DOS Operating System Software. The majority of files will be created and stored on the EBB in Microsoft's Word for Windows format since this is the standard CECOM word processing software. If a file is not in Word for Windows format, the file will be in Rich Test Format or ASCII format - a format capable of being imported into Word for Windows. While not required, a 17'' Super VGA monitor will better accommodate on screen viewing of certain solicitation documents. Detailed information regarding system requirements is contained in the U.S. Army CECOM EBB User's Manual. A User's Manual Identification Code and password will be issued upon request.
