The U.S. Department of Energy, Albuquerque Operations Office, intends to issue a solicitation for the Automated Procurement Express System (APES) as previously discussed in CBD Announcement seeking industry comment as published on 12/07/94. The comments received from industry as a result of the referenced announcement may or may not have been used to complete the resulting solicitation document. All firms who provided comments have been retained on the source list and will be provided the resulting solicitation document. The purpose of APES is to utilize commercial off-the-shelf computer software that may be customized to automate the procurement process from customer initiation to historical close-out of all data necessary for the acquisition of supplies and services regardless of dollar value. A detailed Statement of Work will be provided within the solicitation document and will include testing and acceptance plans. The APES systems include the procurement of the software, any modifications as a result of customization, installation, on-site training, and continued maintenance and upgrades. The period of performance of the contract is one basic year and four one-year options. The SIC number is 5045 and the size standard is 500 employees. Responses to this notice of intent must identify the GSA contract (if applicable) and should provide information as to whether your organization (together with its affiliate) is a large or small business. This acquisition is being conducted under the regulatory delegation of GSA's exclusive procurement authority for FIP resources. The specific GSA DPA case number is not applicable. Only written responses to this notice will be accepted and should be addressed to the point of contact, Shawna R.
