Missouri 63102 C -- DESIGN OF FACILITY MODIFICATIONS TO ACCOMMODATE CNG BUSES. SOL

M. Towe, 314/982-1477. The Bi-State Development Agency of the
Missouri-Illinois Metropolitan Area (Agency) is hereby soliciting
Request for Proposals for Architectural and Engineering Services to
provide designs, plans, and specifications, and cost estimates for
facility modifications to accommodate natural gas CNG) buses at the
Brentwood Garage facility. The work will include but not be limited to:
CNG fueling island oustide the building; site peparation for CNG
fueling equipment such as compressors, storage tanks and dispensers;
replace existing gas infrared heating system with a remote fired
heating system; methane detection system througout the garage and
upgrade of fire alarm reporting system; emergency shutdown of building
electrical system; emergency ventilation system with standby power;
building modifications to elimiate dead air pockets and openings in
ceiling and walls to prevent escaping gas from leaking into adjacent
areas; other modificatons for compliance with codes and ordiances.

This project must comply with all codes and safety requirements and
safely fuel, maintain and store CNG fueled busses. This work must be
designed, bid and constructed in time to accept delivery of CNG fueled
buses by August 1, 1996. Each proposal shall be made in accordance
with certain specifications as outlined in Request for Proposal 2081.
A pre-proposal conference will be held for all interested parties on
July 18, 1995 at 10:00 a.m. at the Agency's Brentwood Garage Facility
located at 3000 South Brentwood Boulevard, Brentwood, Missouri 63144.
Proposals will be received in the MetroLink Purchasing Department of
the Bi-State Development Agency, Second Floor, 707 North First Street,
St. Louis, Missouri until August 1, 1995 at 5:00 p.m. St. Louis time.
Any proposal received after the time referred to above will not be
considered and will be returned to the sender unopened. The Agency
reserves the right to accept any proposal or any part of parts thereof
or to reject any and all proposals. Acceptance of any proposal may be
subject to concurrence by the Bi-State Board of Commissioners and the
Federal Transit Administration. This project is partially financed by
FTA grant MO-03-0041. Copies of the specifications may be obtained at

determined on the basis of qualifications of the firms proposing and
